The Appleton Area Hockey Association Learn to Play Program is for skaters, boys and girls ages 4-10, who are new to hockey. Practices are once per week and allow kids to learn to play hockey in a fun, casual environment without a significant time or financial commitment.
Learn to Play teaches the very fundamentals of hockey skating and game play. It is assumed that skaters have completed the Snow Plow Sam program or Hockey 1 and 2. Players will skate 1 hour per week. Each session will include both a lesson and free skating time.
The Learn to Play program is divided into 2 levels: Curriculum 1 and 2. Upon successful completion of level 1, skaters will move up to level 2. After completion of level 2, skaters will be ready to move up to the Mite program.
